Let’s just get this out of the way first. If you read any online review of the book The Shack then you will inevitably see someone post a negative comment about the book. Then no matter how solid the points are and no matter how clearly they are stated, inevitably someone replies in the book’s defense by saying, “It’s just a fictional novel.” The points are not rebutted. The points are not challenged. They are dismissed by this one simple statement.

As I was searching the web trying to find out how to do this all I found was the opposite scenario, XML to an arrayCollection. When I finally did find a bulletin board post on this, all it said was, “LOL. Everyone always asks this.” That wasn’t so helpful so I figured I would write something up.

Well it looks like a logo redesign is in order for guiroo. (Oooo, a good opportunity to use some of those new typefaces.) It seems that the nature of the web is changing and the visual of a kangaroo is not as appropriate as it was at the turn of the millennium.
The idea of the web page refresh is going away. No more … click, load, view, click, load, view, click, load, view, click, load, view. With different technologies like Flex and AJAX becoming more predominant, the web is becoming less bouncy and more fluid.

To all the people that have been giving me smack about …
I haven’t had time to post until now because at the last minute on Friday, the business mentioned something that changed the entire application flow that I had been preparing for a user interface walk-through. The presentation was scheduled for this morning. (Remember the “to define it would limit it” quote?) Flex is not really a “mock-up” tool — you need to have a pretty good plan in mind before you start building.
Well, I got it done …
