Let’s just get this out of the way first. If you read any online review of the book The Shack then you will inevitably see someone post a negative comment about the book. Then no matter how solid the points are and no matter how clearly they are stated, inevitably someone replies in the book’s defense by saying, “It’s just a fictional novel.” The points are not rebutted. The points are not challenged. They are dismissed by this one simple statement.

So here is a hearty shout out to the Dawgs for a great 2007 season! Thanks for providing an enjoyable distraction from the heartbreaks of life.
Now on to more important matters. I haven’t spoken publicly about this before as it seems to be a highly charged, emotional subject for all people. But now, I will make my position and actions known.
I wear Crocs and I enjoy wearing them. My old brown slip on shoes wore out and I was unable to find another pair at an affordable …

Last night I actually got more than 8 hours of sleep.
The strangest part was being woken up by the dog to go out. At first it was frustrating because it felt like it was 3 AM. But after looking at the clock, it was only 11:45 PM — right on schedule. Crazy.
P.S. This weekend is a blackout so wear black instead of red.

After a long day of removing wallpaper, now I don’t think I’ll be able to sleep tonight.
Now THAT was exciting! Bring on the victory boxers!

I’ll let Bulldawgy give you a review of the game on Saturday.
It was Mission Child Care Night on Saturday so we dropped the kids off at church to have a date-night. I listened in the car as we drove to Outback. I could see the television at the bar from our seats. I stood in Target’s electronic department and tuned a radio in as Regina looked for some things. I listened more as we drove to Lowes, to Wal*Mart, and finally back to the church.
Not much romance on this …

Just in case you missed it…
UGA: 35 – Oklahoma: 14
Yep, the family was dressed in red and black today. I had heard speculation across the board about this game — from Oklahoma will stomp all over UGA, to UGA will take Oklahoma to the cleaners, to who ever wins will win by 3. All I have to say is win or lose, the anticipation is just fun. To get behind a team and hope they do good gives a sense of excitement that carries over to the whole …

Been quiet but have lots going on. Vacationing, working, sickness, surgery, healing, reading, learning, saving, spending … turn, turn, turn.
I’m continually amazed at this winding road called life and all the tragedy and blessing along the way. I’m amazed by how people’s lives intersect and change the course of time and history. I’m amazed by how a seemingly insignificant decision made by someone a few years ago is affecting the lives of people today — people all over the world that they don’t even know exist.
Not only do we tend to minimize God down …

The goatee is on its way back — slowly but surely.
I think I’m going to save its permanent removal until I pass the half-century mark. Like a secret weapon in the fight against the appearance of aging. Funny how it makes me look younger and heavier at the same time. We’ll see how the trade-off effects my decision in the future.
Not much exciting going on … which is something I am thankful for.
While taking Camryn to school, she asked why the news doesn’t report on the Gym Dawgs anymore. …

Out of sensitivity and respect for some of my readers that are Georgia Tech fans, I will not even mention this weekend’s game.
But I will mention my experience of driving to a college town on the day of a rival game and tailgating. I had never been to Athens on the day of a game before. As we pulled into town, it felt like we had gotten off …

To all the people that have been giving me smack about …
I haven’t had time to post until now because at the last minute on Friday, the business mentioned something that changed the entire application flow that I had been preparing for a user interface walk-through. The presentation was scheduled for this morning. (Remember the “to define it would limit it” quote?) Flex is not really a “mock-up” tool — you need to have a pretty good plan in mind before you start building.
Well, I got it done …
