Broken & Tired

Have you ever put your arm on a table or shelf and swept it from the left to the right as a means to cleaning it off? It’s not the most elegant method but it sure is fast and effective. That’s what I feel like my life has been like as of late. I don’t recommend doing it on a regular basis but sometimes it’s necessary.

Since the “reinventing” I’ve found I don’t have the time to devote to doing so much. Work has really picked up and there is still so much left undone since the move — not to mention all the extra junk that has been heaped on our shoulders. I’ve found that spending an entire weekend with nothing that requires my time on the schedule feels really strange. I actually got to fix a toilet that has been leaking money down the drain.

I’ve also been reminded that I am a sinner. While watching Grey’s Anatomy the other night, a character said, “I’m just not used to being wrong.” That’s how I feel. No matter how much we tell ourselves that we are sinners, it’s easily hidden behind politeness and cultural niceties. Follow social protocol and you will avoid situations where your sinfulness is revealed. Do that enough and we tend to think that it is gone — but it’s still under there and it hasn’t gone away.

Praise God that He’s already forgiven the sin we don’t even acknowledge.
