Everybody’s Workin’ On The Weekend

To all the people that have been giving me smack about …
I haven’t had time to post until now because at the last minute on Friday, the business mentioned something that changed the entire application flow that I had been preparing for a user interface walk-through. The presentation was scheduled for this morning. [...]

Farewell Cruel Cable TV World

Tuesday, November 7th, 2006 | Posted in Family, Football, General, The Arts

Our three month special for getting regular Cable at a low, low price ended recently. Now we are doing something the cable company didn’t plan on. We downgraded to broadcast basic — no more HGTV, Animal Planet, or Travel Channel. (It was cheaper to get the promo special and pay no setup fee than to get Broadcast [...]

Okay so the Dawgs aren’t doing so good this year. Some have asked why I chose to follow the dawgs. Well, I have to wonder … did I choose the Dawgs or did the Dawgs choose me? Did I choose to follow them because I was smarter or better than all those other [...]

Now Why Have The Names Been Changed?

On the heals of my previous post, this most imperative issue MUST be discussed. The controversy cannot be avoided. The way you view this most important aspect of worldview determines how you will make decisions for the rest of your life. The question?
Why did Monica Kaufman change her name to Monica Pearson?!
She has been with [...]

Compatibilism

…for truly in this city there were gathered together against your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, along with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel, to do whatever your hand and your plan had predestined to take place. — Acts 4:27,28
What is compatibilism? It’s kind of like the chicken [...]

Rich Mullins Interviews

“You’re going to get burned. Always choose to be burned by that fire that refines - the fire of obedience rather than the fire of sin.” — Rich Mullins
I stumbled across KidBrothers.net today. It has a collection of interviews with the late Rich Mullins. I’ve always respected Rich because he was a Christian musician that [...]

Baby Steps In The Kitchen

Last night Regina and I made Apple Chicken Quesadillas (Regina prepared the chicken before I got home). They are easy to make and have simple ingredients. I think that is what intimidates me as I look at other recipes — there are too many not so common ingredients that only require 1/4th of a teaspoon [...]

How Not To Get Anything Done

The Client’s Requirement: “The database will allow room to capture every functioning operation that a Coordinator is required to maintain, such as (operation 1), (operation 2), etc.”
The Developer’s Response: “Please define every ‘functioning operation that a Coordinator is required to maintain…’”
The Client’s Response: “To define it would place a limit on it.”

Some fun quotes from an article in Time Magazine about the prosperity gospel.
“Who would want to get in on something where you’re miserable, poor, broke and ugly and you just have to muddle through until you get to heaven?” asks Joyce Meyer, a popular television preacher and author often lumped in the Prosperity Lite camp. “I believe [...]

WordPress UGA Smilie Logo

Wednesday, October 11th, 2006 | Posted in Football, Web Design

I recently created a little 15×15 pixel University of Georgia football logo for WordPress users.
Go to the following file: /wp-includes/vars.php
Once there, add the following code to the top of the smilie array:
‘:uga:’  => ‘icon_uga.gif’,
Next right click on the smilie, save it to your hard drive, and upload it to the following folder:
wp-includes/images/smilies/
So now whenever you mention college [...]
