WordPress UGA Smilie Logo

Wednesday, October 11th, 2006 at 12:00 pm | Posted in Football, Web Design.

I recently created a little 15×15 pixel University of Georgia football logo for WordPress users. UGA

Go to the following file: /wp-includes/vars.php

Once there, add the following code to the top of the smilie array:

':uga:'  => 'icon_uga.gif',

Next right click on the smilie, save it to your hard drive, and upload it to the following folder:

wp-includes/images/smilies/

So now whenever you mention college football or the University of Georgia all you have to do is type :uga: and your blog will automatically display the logo. Enjoy!

    For those of you not inclined to tweak source code, I’ve turned it into a WordPress plugin.

    You can download it here: wp-uga-smiley.zip

    Just unzip it, upload it to your wp-content/plugins directory, and activate the plugin through your admin panel.

    Enjoy…

    Thx Hugh! I’m thinking we could do a college football icon collection. I bet Jeffrey would love a :gt: icon — too bad he doesn’t use WordPress though. Doh!
