Training & Painting
I had a good week in Little Rock, AR last week. Our team had a summit meeting and some training. We all work in different states (AK, GA, KS, OH, NE, and PA) so it was good to spend some time in person with the names and voices on the other end of the emails, instant messages, and phone calls.
The days were rather full though. Get up, start training, eat lunch, more training, eat dinner, hang out in hotel lobby/local bar for a little while, go to bed, repeat. Once I get all the fix tickets that came last week out of the way then I’m pretty excited about designing some user-interfaces in Flex for some applications that are desperately in need of an overhaul. It’s a whole different way of thinking.
On another note, the front door is now the proper color. I listened to Georgia stomp on UAB while painting and then placed a “G” logo decal on my car. Now here is something for ya … later that night, I watched the Florida/Tennessee game as it was actually pretty close. Now I have another reason for Saturday to seem so far away from Monday. (Sigh.)

DaveE walks up to me Sunday before church and says:
“Hey, did you watch any of that Florida/Tennessee game last night?”
YOU SO TOTALLY ROCK!!! Welcome to the fold man!

David - please. Don’t drink all the kool-aid.

David, remember you are being introduced to a world that, like our own, has its extremists and its conservatives. Don’t only listen to those who are wearing bomb belts with “G” emblazoned upon them. If one is to understand the great mystery, one must study all its aspects. Not just the dogmatic, narrow view of the farmboys. If you wish to be complete and wise, you must embrace a larger view of the Force–er, college football.

Some of us went to bed around 1 or 2 am. I can’t believe that I made it to training on time either. I had to sleep most of Saturday and Sunday to allow my body to catch up with the team.
“The judge told me: prison or RRT. Looking back, prison doesn’t seem that bad ….”

Shucks, that just made me homesick for Little Rock….
