A Dog Returns To Its Vomit
Well, all the flooring is ordered and set for installation. We went with hardwoods in the kitchen — no offense tile folks. We are finishing up the painting today and tomorrow.
Please pray for our dog Abbey. She is 12-14 years old and hasn’t kept any food down for about a week and a half now. We’re only giving her rice, which is the next level up from an IV drip. We’ve taken her to the vet and the only recommendation they have is to spend 1000’s of dollars on tests to maybe, possibly, by rare chance find out what exactly the problem is. (Even if a problem is identified, there is greater potential that there is no solution.) I don’t know how she is still alive. Although quite skinny, she seems her usual self (barking and wagging her tail), so we don’t feel like it is time to have her put to sleep just yet.
Please pray that she will either be healed and keep food down, or that she will “go to the Rainbow Bridge*” by herself peacefully in her sleep, or that the time will be clear for us to do what is sorrowful but must be done. (Turn, turn, turn.)

Whose dog was she as a pup? 14 years ago, you were in college right?

Dunno. We adopted her in 97. The Basset Hound Rescue of Georgia estimated her age around 3 - 5 at the time — but you never know for sure.
She had definitely been beaten before. She was adopted and then returned because she used to pee in fear anytime someone would approach her. It took a couple of years to get over that with us but she still runs away from Regina’s dad.

14 years is a long time to for a Basset. It’s a blessing she has made it this far. We’ll keep the pooch in prayer. I hope it will be peaceful for her (you all as well), when that time comes.
