“Do some research, find the best deal, and get’er done” seems to be the order of the month. Last week I had the idea of taking out a wall between the den and the living room. But I dismissed it as too much, too late. Then a friend of mine who came to look at the house walked in and said, “I’d take out this wall and open these two rooms up — especially if you are getting new floors.” Within the next few days we had three different quotes and the work should be done as I type.

We’ve had the place for two weeks now and the grass is in need of cutting. I’ve been looking at mowers for a while. I went to Home Depot after lunch and they had a Toro that had been returned for an upgrade and was marked down. It is also the last day for receiving a $100 gift card with a yard equipment purchase. You also get a free mower cover. (Kevin, I’ll be bringing the UM-2s home this weekend. )

We are also getting close to having to having to make a decision on floors. After priming and three coats of paint in the dining room, I’ve got the kitchen primed and the living room left to paint. Everything seems to be going well. I guess it’s like an episode of Trading Spaces — everything comes together in the final moments.
