Okay, here’s something of note. On the road from my house to Alpharetta I pass the North Fulton Islamic Center. It’s basically a residential house that has been renovated to seat more people and is being used as a house of worship. The house looks like all the others along the road except for the big sign in the front yard which seems a bit out of place for Alpharetta — similar to your typical residential fortune teller that’s usually named Sister Nina.

Over the past few months they have been doing some construction in the side yard. It looked like they were going to put up another building as they dug out a basement and laid a foundation. Then they added walls creating rooms and corridors and such in the basement area.

Regina and I recently drove by and noticed that a parking lot had been laid over the whole thing. Doesn’t it seem kind of odd to build a large hidden underground concrete bunker in the middle of Alpharetta? It could just be storage but now I’m curious. I wonder if I can look into the zoning documents and see if there is anything explaining it.
