Order Your Great Pumpkin Today
It’s the time of year when Camryn asks to watch “It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown” every week until Halloween gets here. There is just something great about the Halloween and Christmas specials. I’m not particularly fond of the Thankgiving special — I think it came a bit later in time and they tried to make things more polished — lacks the “character” the earlier ones have.
The soundtracks are one of the things that makes these features so increadible. I remember seeing a documentary where Charles Schulz got a lot of push back from the people saying that jazz as a soundtrack for a cartoon would never work. But thankfully he stuck with his original vision — can you imagine not having the song “Linus & Lucy”? It is a great theme song but there is so much more great music on the soundtracks. I love the entire Christmas album and “The Great Pumkin Waltz.” Listen and buy from iTunes!
So for some great holiday memories that you can pass on to your kids, get the entire holiday set on DVD.
Note: “It’s The Easter Beagle Charlie Brown” isn’t really that good but there is a classic scene where the gang is strolling through the local department store looking for eggs and there are signs everywhere that say, “SALE - Only 235 more days until Christmas!”
