Unbalanced Investment
Well I’ve got my ProTools rig set up again - I even have the cables wrapped. Just need to replace a few balanced cables that seem to be shorted out. In the meantime, I’m unbalanced.
And now for something completely different…
Have you ever been invested in? I can think of several people that invested in my songwriting back when I was in school. They donated their time, equipment and gifts to see my gift taken farther. We recently studied the parable of the Good Samaritan and wrapped it up with, “if you are in the position to meet someone’s need then he is your neighbor.” For the “suburban-american” literal types, this makes personally applying this story somewhat difficult. How many times have you passed a beaten person lying on the side of the road? Are we excused? No, we have to take the spirit of the parable and apply it to our lives and culture.
While not many people around us are in need physically, there are plenty of dreams and ministries that have needs that can be brought to reality by the actions/investment of one individual willing to give up something for a greater good. God brought a situation to my mind this week and I can’t help but act on it. I think of all the people that invested in me and how I can increase the returns on their sacrifices by investing in someone else.
Pray that God will open your eyes to see others needs and your heart to act on it.
