2005 : The Death of Flat
Could it be that my day has come? Could it be that I could actually sing on a recording and have it be in tune? Maybe so folks! Apple just announced their 2005 products yesterday and while the $499 Mac is the show stopper, I am most excited about GarageBand 2. Before now, any pitch correction software has been outrageously expensive. I don’t know to what quality it is or if there are any limitations (like having to always apply it to an entire sound block or track) but now it seems like it’s within reach.
I’ve always thought that if bands like Radiohead or Granddaddy can make hit songs with their vocalists then surely I could make something of worth if I could only hold pitch for more that 2 secs (if I ever hit it at all). It also can record eight tracks at one time so if I got an m-audio sound box then I might just forget about my old G3 set up all together.
My apologies to all the non-musical folk out there. I will try and diversify my content in the upcoming days. Oh and I removed the “supporate” picture.

Thank you for removing the disgusting picture of your tonsils.

I also thank you for removing the picture of your tonsils. I didn’t see it, but the image of it stirred up those middle school days of all things gross (although very cool and fun). I have bookamarked the site and intend to regularly visit. Where do you get your pictures like the fire on the home page?

Hey thx for stoppin in Dan! I’ll email you the pic so you can join in the fun.
As for the pictures Regina and I take them all and I edit them in Photoshop. I really just crop, color correct them and add a word - nothing major. FYI: They change on every page refresh.

I have to take exception with the “outrageuosly expensive” comment. Pitch correction software plug-ins are available for well under $200. And you can get rack-mounted hardware from Antares for around $250. (and I know you’ve spent more than that for outboard equipment)
Be proud of your tonsils! Many people would be jealous that you still have them.
Pitch correction, like prescription medication, should be used if you need it. But always under the care of a professional.
