It appears that my iPod has unrepairable sectors on it’s hard drive. I’ve wiped it clean several times only to have it play fine for a while but then just start skipping songs.
I can repair this one for about $100 myself — always risk. Or get a new one. Or just forget it. Regina made the comment that she still has a Walkman from middle school that works just fine.
I like having music at work and they have recently dictated that we aren’t allowed to stream music online anymore. Thoughts?

How do you get your iTunes library onto cassettes?
Try the $79 iPod Shuffle or a Gen5 30GB for around $200 on ebay.
I think the shuffle would work if you listen like me. I get a few new albums and wear them out. I have the Gen5 30GB, but I got it new for $270 off of ebay.
Don’t forget you could score a gen 4 40GB on ebay for around $100.

Dude – how long have you had that iPod? Three years? If it is three years, then that equates to about $8.30 per month.
So – here’s my thoughts – you are an artist – and music is important to you. If you can’t bring yourself to part with the dough – then just skip eating out two lunches per month – and you’ve made it up.
If’n I were you, I get the Gen5 and not think twice about it.

i sold a busted 3rd gen 20 gig on ebay for about $80.00 bucks that would go a long way to pay for a new one.

Since this is my most viewed blog, I figured I’d leave an update.
Over a year later I got a new 80G iPod, a better case, and haven’t thought twice about it.
